This Saturday at the Market

Tomorrow is a big day down at the Dallas Farmers Market. Come out to support the Dallas Farmers Market and enjoy a day of fun and revelry.

There’s going to be the Annual Mama Ida Ice Cream Social from 9am to noon where local culinary students and young men from the Dallas County Youth Village will let you sample their own ice cream inventions. Tickets are $5. (For more details, see previous post).

There is also the Season Opener Celebration, an outdoor, family event, which promotes gardening and the joys of living a healthy lifestyle. Children’s activities include planting beans, making birdfeeders, face painters, caricature artists, a bounce house and rock climbing wall. All the children’s activities are free. The jazz band, the Inner City All Stars Band, will play from noon to 2 a.m.

Plus, Chef Vijay Sadhu of Sutra will be kicking off our summer ‘Chef at the Market’ cooking demonstration series on the Cesar Chavez Events Plaza from 10-11am.

We hope to see you all there!
